Ambassador Profile
Mr. O.P.Meena joined Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India on 04 December,1992 and is an officer of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) of 2007. He assumed the charge of the post of Ambassador of India to Burkina Faso on January16, 2025.
His previous diplomatic assignments include Head of Chancery and Head of Commerce Wing in Dakar (Senegal), Head of Chancery and in-charge of Political, Commerce, Visa & Consular Wing in Chicago (USA) and Charge d ‘Affairs a.i., Head of Chancery and Head of Political and Commercial Wing in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia).
He has also served in various capacities in Embassy of India, Copenhagen (Denmark), High Commission of India, Pretoria (South Africa) and Embassy of India, Baku (Azerbaijan).
At headquarters of the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, he has worked in different capacities in Administration, Establishment and Protocol Division. He was desk officer of Bhutan desk in Northern Division and Deputy Secretary in Central and West Africa Division.
He has Bachelor’s degree in Arts from University of Ajmer (Rajasthan). He speaks Hindi, English and Rajasthani. He is married to Mrs. Asha Meena and has one son, Aditya Meena and one daughter, Nancy Meena.
