On 07 April 2025, the Embassy of India in collaboration with Himalayan Yoga Meditation Association of Burkina Faso, organized a special Yoga Session at the Embassy as curtain raiser event - 75 days before the 11th International Day of Yoga 2025. Ambassador O.P. Meena briefed the participants about Yoga as an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India which is currently practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity. Recognizing its universal appeal, the United Nations, on the initiative of India, proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga by a resolution aiming to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. Ambassador Idris Raoua led the session which was attended by Army General Sidiki Daniel Traore and more than 30 Burkinabe sports teachers employed in Government Schools besides Embassy officials.
